Sant Named Chairperson of the First-Knox Board of Directors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Vickie A. Sant was appointed chairperson of the board of The First-Knox National Bank (First-Knox) at the December meeting of the board of directors. Sant will succeed Gordon Yance, who will remain a board member.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to serve as board chairperson. Gordy has been a terrific mentor to me over my career and I’m honored to once again follow in his footsteps. He and many other past First-Knox leaders helped pave the way to my role as president and now board chairperson,” said Sant.

Sant began her First-Knox career in 1976 as a statement clerk and has held numerous positions including auditor, vice president of operations, branch administrator, executive vice president and is currently the president. She has directed many bank projects including computer system conversions, technology upgrades, product developments, branch office construction and renovations, and branch purchases. Her responsibilities have included everything from customer service to strategic planning.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, after receiving an associate’s degree in accounting from Central Ohio Technical College. She is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking, the American Institute of Banking School of EDP Auditing, the Cannon Trust Audit and Compliance School and the National Association of Financial Services Auditors School.

Currently Sant serves in the following community leadership roles: president of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, director for Area Development Foundation, treasurer for Friends of Hospice of Knox County, treasurer for Hospice of North Central Ohio, COTC Knox County Advisory board member, 2016 Campaign Chair for United Way of Knox County, and is a member of Rotary. In 2015 she was elected to serve a 2-year term on the Ohio Banker’s League (OBL) Board of Directors in Columbus, Ohio.

Sant is a native of Mount Vernon. She is married to Keith Sant and has three grown children; Brian and (Amy) Bernicken, Brooke Bernicken and Brittany Sant.
