Gallwitz, Waers Join First-Knox
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – First-Knox National Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Laurie Gallwitz, Centerburg office manager, and Steve Waers, commercial lender. Current Centerburg manager Dave Humphrey has transferred to commercial lending.
“Dave has managed our Centerburg office since 2011, but has been a part of that community since 2003. He brings a wealth of lending knowledge and this opportunity will allow him to focus primarily on commercial lending,” said Vickie A. Sant, president of First-Knox National Bank. “It also provided an opportunity for us to bring on additional talent with the hiring of Laurie Gallwitz. She is a terrific addition to the Centerburg market. Laurie has a depth of knowledge that complements the existing staff nicely and her customer service ideals align with First-Knox’s standards. She is familiar with banking and brings a fresh eye to the area”.
Dave Humphrey is a graduate of Fredericktown High School and Ohio University, holding a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He has been with First-Knox since 2003 in a branch management and lending capacity. Dave is the treasurer of the Centerburg Area Business Association, acts as the First-Knox financial agent coordinator for the Knox County Junior Fair Livestock sale, is a member of the Knox County Money Matters task force and is a member and elder of the Centerburg Pointe Church. He and his wife, Aimee, live in Centerburg with their children, John and Grace.
Laurie Gallwitz is a graduate of East Knox High School and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She holds a bachelor degree in business administration with a minor in accounting. Laurie spent 17 years as a real estate appraiser before entering the banking industry. She is currently the treasurer of the Knox County Rotary club. Laurie is married to Ryan Gallwitz, who is the principal at Centerburg Middle School and High School. They reside in Howard with their daughter, Lyndsey, and son, Caleb.
“We are very excited to have Steve join First-Knox as a commercial lender. He has worked with local businesses for a number of years and we look forward what the future holds for him”, Sant said.
Steve Waers is a graduate of Meadowbrook High School in Byesville, Ohio, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He has spent the past eight years working for the Area Development Foundation where he regularly interacted with new and existing businesses. Steve is familiar with the needs of commercial customers and looks forward to further developing relationships with current and future customers. He is active with the COTC Knox Campus Advisory committee, Knox County Regional Airport Authority board, and is a Rotary board member.
Steve resides in Howard with his wife, Maribeth, and children, Cooper, Grant and Avery.
