First-Knox Donates Former Office Building

Vickie A. Sant, president of First-Knox National Bank, announced the finalization of the donation of the former downtown Mount Gilead Office to the Morrow County Historical Society.

The bank announced in 2013 that a new building would be constructed in front of the existing Edison location. The Edison Office was then scheduled for demolition, but the historic downtown office was identified as a candidate for donation. After evaluating various local and county non-profit organizations, the Morrow County Historical Society was selected as the recipient.

“This office has served us well over the years and we are pleased to leave it in the hands of the Historical Society. The building has a rich history in Mount Gilead and we thought it fitting that they would be the perfect choice,” stated Sant. “We look forward to seeing the space as they transform it.”

The closing took place on Monday, December 15, 2014.
