Bartlebaugh, Mathews Promoted

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – First-Knox National Bank promoted two associates at the July board meeting. Katherine Bartlebaugh and Matia Mathews were promoted to administrative officer.

“Matia and Kathy are very deserving of these promotions,” said Vickie A. Sant, president of First-Knox National Bank. “Matia has brought a fresh energy to our Freedom Years program and her enthusiasm for her customers is right in line with our customer service standards. Kathy has played a key role in our trust operations for a number of years and has a quiet, competent manner that really puts our customers at ease”.

Matia Mathews is a native of Newark and holds an associate’s degree from Central Ohio Technical College. She began her banking career with Park National Bank in 1996 and worked in trust, marketing and retail loan services. In 2012 she transferred to First-Knox in her current role as Freedom Years director. Matia is a member of the Knox County Kiwanis and is on the Knox County Task Force. She is active in the Licking County YMCA volleyball program as a referee and coach and attends More Life Church in Newark. Currently residing in Newark, Matia is looking forward to moving to Knox County in the near future.

Kathy Bartlebaugh has worked for First-Knox for over 20 years, having been involved in the trust department for the duration of her tenure. She is a graduate of Dayton Wayne High School in Dayton and has completed the Midwest Trust School I and II. Kathy attends St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and provides food, shelter and clothing support for the Native American children at St. Labre and St. Joseph schools. She enjoys volunteering her services to many senior citizen friends. Kathy and her husband, Ron, reside in Mount Vernon with their three German Shepherds – Bart, Meisha, and Krissy.

Mathews and Bartlebaugh are available at the Mount Vernon Main Office during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They can be reached at 740.399.5500.
